Haiku to illustrate what Minney.org does

For Benefits Frameworks

Change is threat, folks say
Show how good it will be when
We see the same way

For Competency-based workforce planning (the title’s longer than the poem!)

Compose the right team
Few gaps, best use of skills, more
For less spend – smart work

For Learning from the Past

Why trip on that snag
Where you tripped before; learn now!
I’ll find a new way

For Cultural Transformation

Fight among yourselves.
No, learn diff’rence, celebrate
Make it whole from parts

Come and see the longer version on www.minney.org

Live with passion

Could you ever love without passion? The dry, loveless love of . . . what? Even a pet, you love because of the pleasure he or she gives you, a car, a toy, a parent, a lover!
Yet so many spend hours each day, commuting to work, working, commuting home, paying the bills.
Find something you love to do. Find something else you love to do.
Live with passion, and all things will come to you

dawn over Durham on the way to the Train

Pink sky at morning, shepherd's warning
it's 6am and i'm out walking
goldfinches skimming from bush to bush
runners out early, before the rush

It rained on Wimbledon

dove feathers laid out on a chartIt rained buckets here too
Bouncing and flooding
too wet to mow here today

birds foresook their meal - too wet
keep their feathers dry
or to keep warm in July

I ran, out in a clear patch
out in the sunshine
then it rained, it poured, on me

I laughed, run in the rain
dripping with water
caught out after ten mile run

it's good to be at home now
warm and safe, dry too
knowing I've run miles today

From base metals into gold

My basest thoughts - anger, apathy, grief
can become my most divine.
Only to know the place they hold in my life, unfolding to a divine timetable especially for me, and showing me each step of the path I must follow.
Only to see that each low thought signposts the way not to travel
and light will stream forth, the gold of love, joy, compassion.

Open my eyes to see!

Petrol prices

Up and up, too much
whenever I drive my car
I can't cope no more

There's no more in the ground now
can't keep price down or smoke up
